Ask the Future is a public art project that I initiated and will accompany me on my future trip around the world. I will be making a movable question board that I will then take with me on a trip around the world. The main component of Ask the Future is the moving board, myself and possible future temporary partners from different regions. I also have a fellow traveler who works as a researcher in the field of sustainability. An important part of the project and the trip is meeting different people and experiencing different communities. During my future trip around the world, questions about the future will create informal, short- or long-term collaborations between organizations, communities and individuals in different parts of the world. The project is implemented in a combination of text, dialogue, painting, workshops and performances. I see it more as an invitation. People from all over the world are invited to ask questions about the future. The question board brings people from different parts of the world together. The project aims to involve a wide audience. By asking specific questions about the future, it engages people with different identities and backgrounds, knowledge and experiences to look back and understand the present and thus have a creative influence on the future.
